The Meinl Headliner Series Artifact Djembe delivers authentic West African tone from a shell carved out of a single piece of plantation-grown mahogany. The 12" playing surface is fitted with a hand-selected goat skin head, providing a wide tonal range with rich bass notes, crisp open tones, and cutting slaps. Pre-stretched nylon ropes in a traditional Mali-weave tuning system allow for reliable, even tension across the head.
