The Meinl Rope Tuned Travel Series Djembe delivers authentic African drumming tones in a lightweight, go-anywhere design. Built entirely from synthetic materials, this 12" djembe is purpose-built for players who perform outdoors, travel frequently, or simply want an instrument that shrugs off weather and humidity changes. The all-synthetic shell and patented synthetic head produce sharp, cutting slaps and rich, resonant bass tones without the maintenance concerns of natural skin heads. At roughly 20% lighter than comparable fiberglass models, it's one of the easiest full-size djembes to carry to drum circles, beach jams, or gigs. Pre-stretched HTP nylon ropes and traditional rope tuning give you hands-on control over tension and pitch, while the non-slip rubber bottom keeps the drum stable during play and protects surfaces underneath.
