Universal Audio BOCK-167 Tube Condenser Microphone
The Universal Audio Bock 167 is a hand-built large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone designed in partnership with mic-design legend David Bock, drawing on the sonic DNA of the most prized vintage tube mics in history. A custom thin-skin K47-style capsule, NOS EF732 vacuum tube, and a hand-wound American-made output transformer give the 167 the rich, immediate top end and 3D-feeling depth that vintage U47-style mics are famous for, while modern tolerances on every component keep noise and consistency well above what any sixty-year-old original could deliver. Three polar patterns (cardioid, omni, figure-of-eight) selectable from the included dedicated power supply let engineers cover lead vocals, drum room, acoustic guitar, brass, and stereo techniques from a single mic. Hand-assembled in California with a heavy investment-grade brass body and silk-lined wood case, the Bock 167 is built for engineers who measure microphones in decades, not years.
