Universal Audio's Lion '68 Super Lead Amp is a stomp-sized emulation of the 1968 Marshall Super Lead Plexi — the 100-watt head that powered classic rock, hard rock, and metal records for half a century. UA's high-resolution circuit modeling, the same engine behind the company's flagship UAD plug-ins, captures the famous Plexi attack: glassy clean tones below noon, raw chime and bloom in the gain-edge sweet spot, and the unmistakable searing harmonic saturation that defined the Marshall sound from Hendrix and Townshend through to Slash and beyond. Three speaker emulations and three microphone choices on board let players sculpt a complete amp-cab-mic chain straight into a front-of-house desk or DAW, eliminating the need to mic up a real stack. Stereo direct outs, MIDI control, and a road-tough metal chassis make Lion '68 a serious silent-stage and recording tool.
