The Universal Audio Sphere LX is UA's more accessible modeling microphone — a single dual-capsule mic that puts an extensive collection of classic studio microphones into one chassis. Sphere LX uses precisely matched dual capsules and the included Sphere Mic Modeling plug-in (UAD-2 and Apollo) to reconstruct the sonic signature of legendary mics from Neumann, AKG, and others, with the ability to change the polar pattern after the recording is done. The aluminum body and dual large-diaphragm capsule deliver clean source material ready to take on the modeled character, while the plug-in's filter, proximity, and axis controls let engineers shape the take in detail post-tracking. The LX brings serious modeling-microphone capability to home studios and project rooms at a price the working musician can justify.
